DALIT GOODS CO was formed to raise awareness of the work of Life Association and the plight of the Dalit people of India. Life Association is a UK registered charity No. 1115262 who for 20 years have been building and managing schools and children's homes in India.

For over 3000 years the caste system in India has meant that if you were born as one of the 250 million outcastes, that is, born outside the caste system, then your opportunities in life are extremely limited. That is limitations in education, healthcare, even where you can worship. The group of people were formerly known as untouchables but prefer to be called Dalits which means downtrodden or oppressed.
